Reflexology is a gentle, non invasive, Holistic therapy. It is based on the principle that there are numerous reflex points on the feet which correspond to different parts of the body. Pressure is applied to these reflex points by using the thumbs or fingers, this in turn activates the body’s own healing processes and so assists in restoring harmony.
By having the whole body represented in the feet, reflexology offers a means of treating the whole body and of treating the body as a whole. Reflexology allows not only the symptoms to be treated but also the causes of the symptoms.
Reflexology stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities to overcome the minor and major ailments of stresses and enhance the quality of life. It is a complementary therapy, while it can be used as a beneficial treatment on its own it can also be used in conjunction with other complementary and holistic therapies as well as conventional medical care.

Who Can Have Reflexology?
Reflexology, like Reiki, is suitable and beneficial for all ages and throughout every stage of life. In some instances it may be necessary to gain your doctors permission before a treatment may commence.
How Long Does a Reflexology Treatment Take?
A full treatment session will last approximately one hour. However I suggest that you allow an additional fifteen minutes for the first visit as I will take a detailed history of your past and present lifestyle. This consultation will enable the Reflexology sessions to be tailored suited to your specific needs. All information disclosed will be treated with the strictest confidence at all times.
What Happens During a Reflexology Treatment?
After a detailed consultation has been taken, you will be asked to remove shoes and socks and position yourself comfortably on the therapist couch. I will do a visual observation of the feet before beginning the treatment.
I will do a warm up routine on each foot before working a sequence of reflex points on each foot. At the end of this sequence I will finish with a cool down routine and a gentle foot massage.
The sensitivity of the feet varies greatly among clients and my training allows me to understand the correct pressure to apply and how to interpret if tenderness is experienced on areas of the foot by the client. Do not worry if you have feet that are ticklish as the pressure applied is quite firm.
As the session progresses I will log my findings in order to create a specific treatment plan and provide feedback at the end of each session.
After the treatment, in order to enhance and maximize the benefits, try and listen to your body and take things easy. Go with how you feel.
It is important to inform me on how you were feeling after your treatment on your next visit in order for me to assess how your body is responding.
